What led you to a career at Duratec?

“I was first introduced to Duratec through a previous manager who is now part of the business. Through our discussions, I gained insight into the range of services Duratec provides, some of which align closely with my existing experience, and others that present a great opportunity for me to continue learning and developing alongside an experienced and capable team.”

How does your role future proof infrastructure?

“My experience covers specialised maintenance, remediation, and protection services to industrial facilities, Ports and Marina’s. This work plays an important role in supporting the region’s marine, industrial and mining sectors, which underpins local employment and economic activity for the community I live in and represent.”

“By working closely with clients to identify asset integrity risks and implement effective repair and preservation solutions, we can help ensure that key infrastructure continues to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.”

What’s your biggest professional achievement and why?

“One of my proudest professional achievements has been establishing a business. Through a strong focus on culture, reputation, and delivering quality outcomes, I was able to build an organisation that people genuinely wanted to be part of.”

“Today, that business is firmly embedded within the local industry and continues to support multiple families and community groups in the region.”

What do you enjoy most about working at Duratec?

“I have been most impressed with the people at Duratec. I have instantly felt part of something and have felt extremely well supported by management and peers.”

What attracted you to the role and Duratec?

“The prospect of building a strong team and fostering a culture built around purpose, reputation, and community involvement was something that strongly resonated with me and ultimately drew me to the role.”

What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?

“Focus on building a strong work ethic, be willing to learn from those around you, and don’t be afraid to start at the ground level to truly understand how things work. The best experience often comes from being hands-on and taking the time to learn the fundamentals of your industry from people who have been doing it for years.”

“Skills and knowledge will develop over time, but your reputation and attitude are what people will remember and what will open opportunities throughout your career.”
