Long-term relationships with local communities are formed through our active community engagement, creating lasting social and economic benefit for people and communities.

We contribute to society through engagement, providing employment opportunities for local people and supporting local businesses.

We’re incredibly proud to be an annual gold sponsor of Telethon Community Cinemas.

Over 500 volunteers run the Telethon Community Cinemas with all profits donated from screenings to children’s charities through Telethon.

These charities and donations provide equipment for children in hospital, critical services for children with disabilities and life-changing opportunities for disadvantaged children.

Telethon Supported Beneficiaries include Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Telethon Kids Institute, and organisations like Tiny Sparks WAHeartKids, and Redkite.

Reconciliation – Respecting Culture, Building Relationships

Duratec acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands, waters and skies on which we operate across Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to Country.

We’re committed to reconciliation by acknowledging, valuing and integrating the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise our responsibility to foster meaningful engagement, build respectful relationships, and strengthen a culture grounded in understanding and inclusion – delivering lasting, positive outcomes for communities.

Guided by our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, we’re focused on translating this commitment into action.  We see reconciliation as a shared journey, driven by respect, learning and collaboration.

About the Artwork and the Artist – Alex Kerr

To meaningfully represent Duratec’s reconciliation journey, this artwork was developed in partnership with Wurundjeri Artist and Creative Director, Alex Kerr.

This artwork reflects our growing understanding of Country and celebrates diversity across our business and communities. More than a visual statement, it represents a cultural narrative that honours the past, acknowledges the present, and looks toward a future grounded in partnership, respect and shared purpose.

This collaboration supports our commitment to reconciliation by creating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and training opportunities, strengthening community outcomes, and enabling sustainable business growth.

MSB Supplies and Services Pty Ltd –  a Townsville-based Indigenous-owned construction company that has strengthened its workforce capabilities, expanded operations, and delivered sustainable career pathways for its employees.

Stephen Nicholson – during a Defence project in Victoria, we engaged Wurundjeri man Stephen Nicholson, to assist with the permanent display of his artwork titled ‘Generations of Wurundjeri’ on the Defence base.
