Meet Ryan Rogers

“My career began in Mount Isa as a boilermaker, progressing through Leading Hand and Supervisor roles while gaining hands-on experience in heavy industry and team leadership. I also spent a period running my own business, which taught me valuable lessons in accountability, customer relationships and delivering outcomes.

I then joined Newmont Corporation on Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea, where I spent 15 years working across all aspects of the mine and process plant. My experience ranged from camp construction through to maintenance and shutdowns, culminating in my role as Maintenance Superintendent – Structural Integrity.

In that position, I led the planning and execution of structural and civil maintenance across critical plant areas, managed contractor interfaces and implemented asset integrity strategies. When the time came to return to Australia, Duratec was a natural choice. The opportunity to apply my experience while continuing to grow professionally within a company focused on asset remediation and protection made the decision an easy one.”

“One of my proudest achievements was developing the Structural Integrity department at Lihir. The division was established to address a growing number of Priority 1–5 defects across the processing plant and develop a strategy to repair and close them out.

I helped implement an auditing system, built an engineering team to develop repair scopes, and led a diverse workforce responsible for delivering the work. By the time I moved to Duratec, the team had successfully closed several major Priority 1 defects, improving plant reliability and increasing processing capacity.“
