Duratec has been engaged by Department of Defence to remove asbestos containing material (ACM) from 44 buildings at HMAS Stirling and Irwin Barracks.

Details

The scope includes:

HMAS Stirling, Garden Island
Removal of ACM in soils from two sites within Pig Trough Bay without impacting any existing vegetation.

Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta
Removal of all ACM from various buildings and replace the removed products with new non ACM products.

Highlights

  • Many of the buildings will remain operational during the works.
  • Strong lines of communication and a rigid testing regime was required to satisfy the stakeholders.
