Our Approach:
Environmental Performance:
We work to reduce our environmental footprint through smarter energy use, emissions tracking, and waste reduction. Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001, and we regularly review and improve our practices.
Climate Risk Management:
We use regional climate modelling and site-specific response plans to manage risks from extreme weather events, helping to protect personnel, minimise project delays, and maintain operational continuity.
Transparent Reporting and Governance:
We are preparing for new AASB S2 climate disclosure requirements. Our Board Safety and Sustainability Committee and Executive Sustainability Committee oversee regular assessments and reporting, ensuring sustainability is embedded at all levels.
Emissions and Efficiency:
Duratec undertake quarterly carbon accounting to understand the impact of our Scope 1 and 2 footprints. We have assigned key reduction initiatives that target our key emissions sources. We have also undertaken a materiality assessment to determine Scope 3 categories which are material to our operations.
Duratec currently source the electricity for our offices from a proportion of GreenPower and utilise Hybrid or Battery Energy Storage Systems on construction sites where possible.
