Wivenhoe Dam was built in 1984 on the Brisbane River,
about 80km from Brisbane. It was built for the dual purpose of providing a safe and reliable water supply for the region and flood mitigation.

Details

Duratec was engaged to complete industrial coating repairs to the dam jetty structure and other minor assets.

By utilising full encapsulation with vacuum recovery blasting, Duratec ensured that the water supply was not contaminated by any aspects of the remediation works.

Special lightweight scaffold was erected around the structure to enable full encapsulation and to allow safe and easy access to all parts of the structure that require attention.

Highlights

  • Remedial works were carried out to suit the port’s shipping schedule and tidal changes.
  • A comprehensive survey was carried out at the commencement of project to quantify repairs.

Capabilities

  • Abrasive Blasting & Painting
