Duratec was engaged by Augility to be the managing contractor for the remediation of RAAF Base Wagga’s bathrooms 86 and 89. Complete demolition of the existing male bathroom was required, followed by the construction of a new unisex bathroom.

The team installed new sewer and floor wastes, applied new screen and waterproofing, and installed new floor-to-ceiling tiles throughout the space.

As part of the conversion to a unisex bathroom, new floor-to-ceiling partitions were installed, as well as new toilet facilities.

Duratec also provided an additional two access points to the bathroom from the hangar, through the construction and installation of two new doors.

Upon completion, the base was provided with a new, modern style bathroom, that is both gender-inclusive and functional.

Highlights

  • There was restricted access to the base
  • Timeline restrictions were in place due to nature of site
  • Duratec constructed the new unisex bathroom from scratch
