Duratec was contracted to complete four CIL tank ring beam concrete foundation repairs.
Details
The project involved the manual breakout of delaminated concrete which exposed the steel reinforcement bar. The reinforcing was abrasive blasted and primed before Rendoroc LA55 high strength micro-concrete was reinstated. Sacrificial anodes were also installed to further
protect the steel reinforcing.
Highlights
- Over 1000 bags of fluid, low alkali, micro-concrete was installed and over 500 XP anodes were placed.
- Innovative formwork allowed the ring beam to be reformed to match the existing.
- The project was completed on time and budget with no recordable injuries.
