One of Duratec’s key commitments is to providing and maintaining a safe work site for employees, subcontractors and others affected by its work. The company believes that all accidents are preventable and views its employees as customers of its safety programs.
In line with this commitment, Duratec’s team on Garden Island, WA, recently hosted a safety awareness seminar with Theo Venter of Just Another Day as key speaker. Theo is the only known survivor of a 22,000-volt electrical shock through the heart. This was a result of his decision to remove his insulated gloves while working on a damaged transmission pole.
Theo shared his amazing story with the team, who appreciated learning about the psychology of incidents.
