To mark International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), Duratec is proud to reaffirm its commitment to championing the creativity, capability and leadership women bring to solving complex challenges across the construction and engineering sectors.

Through our corporate partnership with the National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC), we continue to support initiatives that foster greater representation, connection and career development for women across the industry.

NAWIC plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of construction by providing meaningful opportunities for networking, professional development and mentorship. This partnership enables Duratec employees nationwide to access a range of valuable resources, supporting both personal and professional growth. Importantly, it ensures our talented female engineers, and all team members, are equipped with the tools and support needed to thrive.

As part of this year’s campaign, we spoke with Dina Sabiri, HOTO/ Quality Assurance Engineer, Maria Nazemi, Planner (Architectural Engineer) and Alva Wu, Planner (Civil Engineer) about their experiences in NAWIC’s Mentoring Program. Their insights highlight the positive impact the program has had on building confidence, strengthening technical and leadership skills, and shaping career direction.

General Manager – People & Culture, Natasha Johnston commented:

“At Duratec, we recognise that diverse perspectives drive innovation and high-quality outcomes. By supporting initiatives like the NAWIC Mentoring Program, we continue to invest in the growth of our people and the future of our industry.”
