Before commencing the Armament Wharf Extension project, the Duratec Ertech Joint Venture team surveyed the seafloor to determine the characteristics in the area of works at Garden Island, WA.

The team discovered seagrass colonies providing an excellent habitat for fish and a small coral outcrop which is uncommon to the area of WA.

To ensure construction activities would not damage it throughout the project, the DEJV team positioned an exclusion zone marker buoy and discussed the coral outcrops existence during toolbox talks with all the workers.
