Meet Daniel King
What led you to a career at Duratec?
After 23 years in the industry and the last three years as a General Manager, the opportunity to join Atec Facades at the start of its journey was something I was keen to be part of. Having the support and backing of Duratec gives the business a strong foundation while still allowing us to build something for the future.
How does your role future proof infrastructure?
We help clients understand the condition of their assets and make better decisions about where they’re spending their money. Whether that’s through engineering, design, digital modelling or façade solutions, it’s about helping them plan ahead and get the most out of their assets over the long term.
What’s your biggest professional achievement and why?
Leading a business as General Manager over the past three years would have to be my biggest achievement. I’m proud of what we achieved as a team, the growth of the business and the relationships we built with our clients along the way.
(It’s early days but) What do you enjoy most about working at Atec?
The people and the opportunity. There’s a good team here with a lot of experience, and everyone has been very welcoming. It’s also exciting being involved at this stage of the business and having the chance to help shape where it goes.
What attracted you to the role?
The chance to help grow a business from the ground up. Atec has strong capabilities in façade delivery, design and 3D modelling, and with the backing of Duratec there’s a real platform for long-term growth. Being able to combine that with my experience and help shape the future of the business was what attracted me most.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?
Turn up, work hard and be reliable. Listen to people who have experience, ask questions and don’t be afraid to have a go. You won’t have all the answers straight away, but if you’re willing to learn and put in the effort, opportunities will come.
