The results are in, and Duratec is proud to announce an incredible achievement at the WA Australian Institute of Building (AIB) Professional Excellence Awards, held on Friday, May 15, in Perth.

Duratec took home two awards for the following categories, showcasing our team’s commitment to excellence and innovation:

Representing Duratec at this prestigious event was Managing Director – Atec, Grant Oliver, James Kenny (Façade Manager), Pia Nithi (Digital Engineering Analyst) and Steven Hennessy (HSEQ Advisor).

Atec Facades is a WA–based subsidiary of Duratec, operating as a design‑led façade specialist. Atec manages the full project lifecycle – from early design development and procurement through to fabrication and installation – their clients and partners are provided confidence from concept through to completion.

Atec Managing Director, Grant Oliver, said, “It was a fantastic evening and a great recognition of the effort our teams put into delivering complex projects to a high standard. These awards reflect the collaboration, technical expertise and commitment to quality that sit behind everything we do at Duratec and Atec.”

“To have our teams recognised at this level is something we’re very proud of. It speaks to the capability we’ve built and gives us real momentum as we continue delivering complex façade and remediation projects across the country,” Grant said.

Atec is currently delivering several flagship projects, including the façade package for Curtin University’s Perth campus—a large and complex scope showcasing the business’s end to end capability. The team is also nearing completion of the Northern Territory Art Gallery façade installation, having collaborated closely with Sitzler and other consultants through early contractor involvement and detailed 3D modelling to optimise both constructability and architectural outcomes.

With these teams and projects having won two WA Chapter Awards, they will now go in the running for the Professional Excellence National Awards, held on Saturday 29th August.
