The Adelaide Convention Centre is located on North Terrace, Adelaide. It is a modern, flexible, and technologically advanced venue and comprises of three independent buildings – East, Central and West, Adelaide.

The internal cladding located inside the West Building was of composite aluminum cladding, plasterboard lining and polyester insulation. The scope of works completed to the West building was removal and disposal of existing interior cladding and insulation, and installation of new 3mm folded cassette style cladding system including replacement of insulation to an acoustic grade insulation.

  • Due to this project been undertaken post COVID 19, Adelaide Convention Centre had a full booking sheet from the date of closing its doors until reopening 3 months later, due to this, the project needed to be undertaken under shutdown conditions, it was essential the works were completed on time, ensuring the Convention Centre to return to full service to meet its current booking schedule
  • Project consisted of 1900m2 of cladding replacement meaning 2400 individually sized panels needed to be hand measured, redesigned and fabricated offsite prior to project commencement
  • Of the 2400 panels fabricated there were not 2 identical panels within the building
  • The existing system was a direct stick system that had a 3mm exposed unsealed joint. In order to ensure ascetics were meet a redesign from direct stick panels to traditional folded cassette was needed to ensure a mechanical fixing could be used
  •  During a demanding project timeline Duratec implemented there HSEQ systems and ensured there were no LTI’s throughout the project
