EIG Australia (EIG) is strengthening fuel infrastructure capability across Western Australia’s North West, after successfully delivering two major upgrades at the Onslow Marine Support Base (OMSB) and the Kimberley Marine Support Base (KMSB).

At the centre of both projects is infrastructure innovation in marine fuel operations through first-of-their-kind bunkering containers: purpose-built systems that enable clients to take full control of their fuel supply.

A new standard for bunkering

Developed by EIG, these bespoke bunkering containers integrate metering, hose management and fuel control into a single modular unit. Designed for performance in complex marine environments, they enable accurate fuel reconciliation, real-time monitoring and integrated Smartfill fuel management – removing reliance on third-party contractors.

By shifting to self-sufficient bunkering, EIG have benefitted clients with greater operational flexibility, improved efficiency and long-term cost savings, while maintaining safe and compliant fuel transfer in high-demand conditions.

OMSB: Reliable, independent fuel delivery

At OMSB in Onslow, EIG delivered a new bulk diesel facility to increase fuel storage capacity and improve bunkering efficiency.  The team installed three 200,000 litre tanks with high-flow dispensing capability and a modular bunkering system housed within a 10ft dangerous goods container, providing a more reliable and efficient fuel solution for marine operations.

KMSB: Scaling for high-demand operations

At KMSB in Broome, EIG delivered a larger-scale high-flow fuel transfer system alongside potable water and electrical infrastructure to support operations at KMSB’s new floating wharf within the Port of Broome.

The project includes a high-capacity bunkering system capable of dispensing approximately 3,300 litres per minute, enabling efficient servicing of offshore vessels and supporting future operational growth.

This time, housed in a 20ft container, this bunkering system boasts one of the highest marine fuel dispense capability in North Western Australia.

  • High-capacity bunkering system (~3,300 L/min – able to fill an Olympic sized swimming pool in just over twelve hours)
  • ~2km pipeline connecting wharf to fuel terminal

Across both projects, EIG has combined engineering expertise, collaborative delivery and disciplined execution to deliver fit-for-purpose, future-ready infrastructure.
