Duratec, the engineering, construction, and remediation contractor, has released its inaugural Sustainability Report (as part of its Annual Report) highlighting its meaningful carbon reduction commitments.

Duratec, the engineering, construction, and remediation contractor, has released its inaugural Sustainability Report (as part of its Annual Report) highlighting its meaningful carbon reduction commitments.
With FY26 as a baseline and a target to reduce emissions intensity by 30-50% for Scope 1 and 2 by 2035, the strategy includes EV transition, broader diesel reduction (hybrid systems, BESS, telematics to aid in generator right-sizing) and GreenPower for our offices.
Duratec has started to execute its sustainability strategy by acquiring an initial eight fully electric, BYD vehicles, as well as an electric van, as it begins the electrification of its fleet, retiring its diesel-powered utility vehicles and reducing diesel consumption across operations and sites. One of the EVs will be used as a ‘loan’ vehicle for staff to encourage workforce adoption and experience the benefits and capabilities of electric vehicles.
In addition, trials of telematics on Blue Diamond hybrid-generators have informed a longer-term strategy to support generator right-sizing across projects, enabling generators to operate at an optimal 70–80% load and thereby reduce diesel consumption.

Duratec’s sustainability approach aligns with the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) and is informed by the principles of environmental stewardship, workforce safety, climate resilience and responsible governance.
