What led you to a career at Duratec?

What led you to a career at Duratec?

“My career with Duratec was driven by a desire to work with a company that has a strong reputation for delivering complex engineering, and construction projects to a high standard. I was particularly drawn to Duratec’s focus on quality outcomes and collaboration across diverse project teams.

“With a background in contract administration, I was looking for a role where I could apply my skills in managing commercial risk, supporting project delivery, and working closely with operational teams. Duratec’s project portfolio and commitment to professional development aligned well with my own career goals, offering both challenge and long-term growth.

“Ultimately, it was the opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure and defence-related projects, while being part of a values-driven organisation, that led me to pursue a career at Duratec.”

What’s your biggest professional achievement and why?

“My biggest achievement to date is winning the Australian Defence Industry Award, which recognised my contribution to supporting the successful delivery of defence-related infrastructure projects.

“The award reinforced the value of being detaildriven while remaining solutionsfocused, and it validated the trust placed in me by both project teams and clients. It also represents my professional growth — from administering contracts to actively contributing to project success.”

What do you enjoy most about working at Duratec?

“The projects are challenging and varied, which keeps the work engaging and allows me to continually develop professionally.

“My highly skilled colleagues support my development and I value being part of an organisation that delivers complex projects in the Defence and infrastructure space.”

What have you learned during your time at Duratec / what has inspired you?

“I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for how early commercial involvement and proactive risk management can positively influence project delivery. Being closely involved with project teams has also strengthened my ability to adapt and problemsolve.

“The people at Duratec take pride in their work. The willingness of colleagues to mentor, share knowledge, and uphold high standards has had a strong influence on my own professional growth.”

What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?

“Be curious and put your hand up. Ask questions and understand how things work beyond your role. Stay open to feedback, be reliable and communicate clearly. Learn the basics well and take pride in the quality of your work.”
